How to Make Unfair Suffering Into Unfair Advantage

Not your regular Good Friday email.

Suffering wasn’t part of the original blueprint of God’s creation.

It’s the consequence of sin.

Sin broke the world. Sin broke the way we see ourselves. Sin brought suffering.

That’s why doing good doesn’t always feel easy. And sometimes doing bad feels way too easy.

Sin corrupted the world.

In eternity, God promises:

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."

Revelation 21:4, NLT

That’s the world God is restoring us toward—not the one we’re in right now.

So, how do we approach suffering in today’s world?

Attitude.

If you're suffering and complaining about it—It doesn’t help you. It doesn’t help anyone around you. It becomes a bad testimony.

But if you suffer with the right attitude—

  • If you know it’s part of the journey,

  • if you accept that this is the state of the world right now,

  • and you keep being faithful to God and to everything He’s given you to do without the self-pity.

You will be rewarded.

Holding to a hope of a life without suffering helps you overcome.

This year, I’ve received a lot of bad news.

I’ve had to face many negative changes.

But I kept moving forward.

Why?

Because I know that anything I face with a good attitude can become a testimony later.

This isn’t going to bring me down.

This is my training ground.

It’s shaping me to be stronger, bolder, and more fruitful than ever.

Above it all, I’m grateful for Jesus, who suffered for our sake.

He entered the world of suffering that our sin created.

He suffered for the evil he didn’t deserve. He did it to show us love. To show what He’s willing to sacrifice for us.

And to show how we’re supposed to love others.

Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice.

Have a blessed Good Friday!!
